Since December 2016, Tecsidel has been implementing its toll system on the Pativilca-Trujillo highway, located in the north of Peru. The company Autopista del Norte SAC, which belongs to the concessionaire OHL Group, is responsible for the construction, maintenance and operations. This highway has a length of 356 km, is part of the Panamericana Norte and is a strategic location as it connects Trujillo, the third biggest city in the country, to the main road network.
The first stage of this project consists of one plaza, Virú, with 8 installed lanes, but 6 opened: 4mixed and 2 reversible manual.
The migration of some of the existing manual lanes to mixed lanes is one of Tecsidel's great contributions to this concession tolling. The mixed toll system, meaning manual and automatic, allows payment in cash, bank cards and TAGs. This is increasingly demanded by concessionaires because electronic payment improves traffic flow and provides more security in transactions.
In this case, Tecsidel offers its system installation only in level 1 (lane) and it integrates with existing systems of level 2 (plaza) and 3 (Back Office), which belong to TTS. This is a revolutionary step for this type of system, since Tecsidel offers a complete system of lane (hardware + software), which in a modular way allows integration with any other system in level 2.
Traffic and Transport Systems (www.ttsistemas.com) offers state-of-the-art technological solutions focused on the operation and control of smart highways.
Tecsidel plans to complete the project by mid-march 2017.
